‘Southern Charm’ Kathryn Dennis’ Victim Speaks On Nearly Dying
It’s been a little over a month since Bravo’s Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis was accused of being the driver behind a hit-and-run that put a Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office deputy in the hospital.
For the first time since the terrifying near-death experience, the reality TV star’s victim is speaking out. What did the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office deputy say about the accident? Furthermore, who did she speak to? Keep reading for all the details.
Kathryn Dennis’ Victim Speaks On Nearly Dying
Speaking exclusively to Radar Online, the school crossing guard and South Carolina deputy sheriff Michelle Ward admits she very nearly escaped death or serious injury. Michelle firmly believes that if she had not seen and dodged the speeding vehicle she isn’t sure she would still be alive.
What Bravo’s Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis’ victim tells Radar Online she is most thankful for, however, is that none of the children were crossing the street when the vehicle sped recklessly in front of the school.
As fans know, Bravo’s Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis was later identified as the “suspect” because she was the owner of the vehicle. Furthermore, she was arrested on October 20th for the hit-and-run.
Michelle Ward Recalls Fearing She Would Die
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office deputy recalls fear settling into the pit of her stomach when she realized the vehicle was speeding toward her faster than it should have been going.
You got a vehicle coming at you that, the speed limit over there is 35 (mph), but you can tell this person is not doing 35 and getting hit – that hurts. The vehicle struck me on the right side. Luckily, I turned around to notice that she wasn’t stopping because otherwise, I would’ve gotten hit in the back — blindsided. But I turned around and saw that the vehicle wasn’t stopping and tried to get out of the way, but I wasn’t faster than the car, unfortunately.
Michelle Ward was unable to avoid the vehicle completely because she couldn’t move faster than a car. She, however, was able to prevent herself from being blindsided and struck in the back because she noticed the car.
What Kind Of Injuries Did She Have?
She ended up twisting her ankle when she quickly moved to try and avoid the vehicle. Sadly, she also smashed her right hand after instinctively using it to protect herself. Ultimately, she is sure it would have been worse if she hadn’t moved and tried to protect herself.
Michelle added as she concluded her interview: “I love my life. I’m not ready to leave. Even what they consider minor injuries – it’s major to me. I can’t do my normal job. I can’t do my extracurricular activities. There are a lot of things I can’t do. It hinders my life drastically.”
Most who have heard this story agree that Michelle’s quick action is why she is such a great crossing guard for the school. The question is: What do you think about what she had to say? Let us know in the comments. And, keep coming back for any additional updates on this story!
