Is long-time Dancing With The Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy saying goodbye to the ballroom?

Each and every season, the show features new dancers and says goodbye to fan favorites. Last year, Cheryl Burke retired after spending 26 seasons on the show. Season 32 marks Val Chmerkovskiy’s 19th season.

After a heartwarming social media post, some of his fans think he’s saying goodbye. Keep reading to see what he said.

Did Val Chmerkovskiy hint at his ballroom exit?

Thirty-seven-year-old Valentin “Val” Chmerkovskiy joined Dancing With The Stars all the way back in Season 13. He brought home the Mirrorball Trophy twice with his celebrity partners Rumer Willis and Laurie Hernandez.

Over the years, he’s talked about retiring and walking away to explore other projects. His older brother Maks Chmerkovskiy did exactly that. So will this be the year Val follows in his footsteps?

This definitely isn’t the first time Val has teased retirement. After teaming up with Olivia Jade in Season 30, he said he was finished. However, he returned once again for Season 31-32. So what did he say to make fans question his future on the show?

It all boils down to his most recent Instagram post.

“This has easily been one of my favorite seasons on DWTS, and I’ve been a part of many,” Val began his Instagram message. He attached several photos, including one where he is hugging Xochitl Gomez tightly.

“I’ll keep it brief because we still got a show tomorrow. It’s been a real honor to be given such a powerful talent to guide,” he continued. “Xochitl is a force, and I’m looking forward to seeing her shine for many many years to come. Imma say I taught her some ballroom 🙂 Love you, proud of you. Tomorrow will be epic! 🌹 #teamXV #DWTS”

Fans react to the potentially cryptic post

Although many Instagram users were excited to celebrate Val and Xochitl’s partnership, others felt concerned.

“Why does this sound like a goodbye post,” one fan wrote in the comments. Others followed suit and said it sounded like Val was hinting at his retirement.

Wait right??? And Xochitl’s comment??? That like sealed it for me, I’m scared now 😰” another Instagram user replied.

Others said it sounded like he was simply expressing gratitude for Xochitl.

Either way, fans can’t be certain until Val Chmerkovskiy makes an official announcement one way or another. For the time being, fans are hoping he and Xochitl Gomez make it to the finale. Many think they could even bring home the Mirrorball Trophy this year.
