Fortunately, those unable to see the parade in person will have an opportunity to watch it on television. Keep reading for the details of how.
91st Hollywood Christmas Parade: How To Watch
Technically, the 91st Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade took place this weekend in Los Angeles, California. There are tons of clips of the parade uploaded by those who watched the parade on both YouTube and TikTok. That, however, isn’t ideal for someone who is looking to watch the entire parade from start to finish.
Fortunately, the entirety of the parade was filmed. The parade will air on the The CW Network. It will air at 8 P.M. on December 15th.
The Parade Details
According to KTLA 5 News, the annual Christmas parade benefits a charity called Marine’s Toys for Tots. The parade started at 6 P.M. yesterday and ran for three miles along Hollywood Boulevard, Orange Street, Vine Street, and Sunset Boulevard. The parade concludes with a special appearance from Santa Claus.
In total, there were approximately 5,000 participants in the parade this year. These participants included 14 performers, 90 celebrities, 39 movie cars, 10 bands, six massive character balloons, and three parade floats.
Hollywood Christmas Parade: The History
This year, Retired U.S. Army Col. Paris D. Davis had the honor of being the Grand Marshal for the 91st Annual Hollywood Christmas Parade.
Once referred to as the Santa Clause Lane Parade, the parade first took place back in 1928. The parade has only been cancelled a few times over the years including 1942 to 1944 because of World War II and 2020 because of the pandemic.
The very first Grand Marshal of the parade was veteran comedian Joe E. Brown. The parade did not include a Grand Marshal for the first time until 1932. Other noteworthy Grand Marshals included Jimmy Stewart, Gene Autry, Bob Hope, and John Wayne.
Many news stations including KTLA 5 News also promise to air the parade in its entirety on December 15th. Many outlets have also uploaded clips of the parade via YouTube.
