‘Teen Mom’ Chelsea Houska Mourns Deceased Loved One

MTV’s Teen Mom star Chelsea Houska revealed her family suffered a tragic loss earlier this year. The information turned the exciting news of a new addition to the family into a bittersweet moment for fans. What deceased loved one was Chelsea Houska talking about in her recent Instagram post? Chelsea Houska Welcomes New Family Member

The Teen Mom star took to Instagram to share two photos of a beautiful dog as well as a video clip. In the comments, she revealed that the furbaby was a “Great Pyrenees/golden/doodle mix.” She also shared that his name was Goose and he was just a year old. Chelsea described him as a “dream job” noting that he was “so easy” to take care of.

She penned in the caption of the post: “Meet GOOSE! We adopted Goose from @bsquaddogrescue last week and he has been an absolute DREAM.”

While Teen Mom fans were excited for Chelsea and her family, the post left them scratching their heads. What happened to her other dogs? Where was her basset? What about Phil? Fortunately, Chelsea didn’t leave fans hanging. She answered the questions. The answers, however, came with a bit of sad news.

Mourns Deceased Loved One

For starters, she reassured her followers that her basset was fine. He was recently featured in one of her Instagram posts. She penned in response to the question: “nothing?! He’s fat and living his best life!”

Sadly, however, the same could not be said for her beloved Phil. In response to the question, she revealed that Phil had passed away earlier this year.

Teen Mom Fans Gutted Over Loss

On Reddit, fans were in agreement that Phil was one of the few furbabies in the Teen Mom universe they felt actually got properly cared for. So, this was NOT news anyone was ready for. In response to her comment, many on Instagram apologized for her loss. Now, chances are pretty good Chelsea finished mourning her loved one long ago. This news, however, was a fresh wound for fans. Here’s what some had to say in response to learning of Phil’s death:

• “nooooo!!!! I’m so sorry!”
• “ohhh no! I was just going to ask about Phil”
• “oh Chelsea I’m so sorry losing a pet is the hardest thing”
• “RIP Phil. One of the few animals from the Teen Mom franchise that seems to have lived a happy and healthy life.”
• “Big dogs are usually the sweetest but unfortunately have a shorter expected life span than small dogs”

Some fans admit they are a bit confused as to why everyone is so surprised. Turns out, Chelsea did have an entire Instagram tribute dedicated to Phil back in March when he passed away.
