Jesse Palmer Defends Kat Izzo’s ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Behavior
Every season of the Bachelor franchise shows needs a villain. Kat Izzo is filling that role in Season 9 of Bachelor In Paradise. Viewers might hate her, but Jesse Palmer has her back. Why is he defending her? Keep reading to see what he has to say.
Jesse Palmer Compares Roast To ‘Locker Room Culture’
Season 17 Bachelorette Katie Thurston made her first appearance on Bachelor In Paradise this season. She joined Wells Adams and Jesse Palmer to host a roast where the contestants basically say mean things about each other under the pretense of a “joke.”
Not even Jesse Palmer was safe from getting roasted after being called a “thumb.”
However, the joke didn’t phase Palmer. He told Us Weekly that he’s used to that type of humor. “I come from locker room culture, so I mean, nothing’s off limits.”
The same couldn’t be said for the BIP contestants, who took the roast personally. Kat Izzo was a common target at the roast, with her fellow beachgoers commenting on her romances with Brayden Bowers and John Henry Spurlock.
Izzo isn’t popular with some of her cast mates or viewers at home. Aside from her romantic entanglements, viewers find her constantly messing with her hair annoying.

Noticing the reaction from Bachelor Nation fans, Kat Izzo recently issued something of an apology on her social media. But at this point, it seems the only one in her corner is Jesse Palmer.
Jesse Palmer Defends Kat Izzo’s Bachelor In Paradise Behavior
Jesse Palmer has a soft spot for Kat Izzo after she was on Season 27 of The Bachelor. He told Us Weekly that he’s gotten to know her “on and off camera.”
He went on to call her “a lovely person with a huge heart.” which is something most viewers aren’t seeing. However, the host of Bachelor Nation believes that is quite common in the franchise.
“Everybody really seems to be on board with Brayden all of a sudden after what happened on Charity’s season,” Jesse Palmer reasoned.
He added, “Same with Shanae [Ankney] last year on Paradise, too. They saw a side of her on Clayton’s season and they saw a completely different side of her — and a realer, more true side — once they get to Paradise.”
The former pro football player encouraged viewers to give Kat Izzo another chance. “There’s still time left and I’m excited for people to see how Kat’s story on the beach is going to end.”
Will Kat Izzo find redemption before Season 9 of Bachelor In Paradise ends? There are only two episodes left. On Thursday, November 30, BIP starts at 10 PM Eastern due to the Golden Bachelor‘s two-hour finale.
Season 9 wraps up on Thursday, December 7, with a three-hour finale starting at 8 PM Eastern.
