My 600-lb Life alum Ontreon Shannon had one of the most unfortunate stories in Season 10. He appeared on the show at 702 pounds. He had been estranged from his father since he was a child, while his mother barely spent time with him because of her work. Due to this, the Texas native resorted to food as his source of happiness. Aside from his weight, Ontreon was also struggling with congestive heart failure and diabetes. He’s been regularly taking medications to keep himself alive. The My 600-lb Life alum was already rejected by multiple doctors due to his condition and was even told that he’s lucky to be alive at 40.

It also appears that his health issues played a significant role in his difficulties with Dr. Now. He never lost weight and even gained more during his time on the show. His wife and Dr. Now also believe that he never followed his diet programs despite the dedication he showed to working out. Ontreon ended his episode at 704 lbs.

Ontreon Is Still Pursuing His Goals

Despite his failure, Ontreon is still trying to shed weight today. The former My 600-lb Life star has been in touch with the fans and shared updates about his goals. In July, he announced that he had finally started a serious plan to lose pounds. He even shared day-to-day updates and has been thankful to everyone who’s cheering for him. Ontreon Shannon has yet to share his current weight. But most of his recent photos indicate that he’s still got a long way to go in his journey.

My 600-lb Life: Ontreon Shannon Overcame Many Struggles

Aside from obesity, Ontreon also battled mental health issues. Fortunately, he was able to turn his life around after appearing in Season 10. The My 600-lb Life alum was able to get help from a psychologist during the show and has never looked back since. He’s been sharing Bible verses and motivational messages today. He’s still going strong with his wife, Musa Dube. Viewers have also seen how supportive she is during his weight loss journey.

It was also reported that the former reality TV personality suffered from Covid-19 early in 2022. Fortunately, he was able to recover, but some believe that it hindered his progress in losing weight.
