JoJo Siwa Cries, Gets Candid On Balding & Insecurities
JoJo Siwa first landed in the spotlight when she was just nine years old and competed in the Dance Moms spin-off called Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition. From that moment on, she was a reality TV star, and her life was never the same.
During this week’s episode of Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, JoJo Siwa got candid and broke down to tears while opening up about balding at a young age and the insecurities growing up in the spotlight created for her.
What did JoJo share during this emotional rant? Keep reading for a recap.
JoJo Siwa Cries, Gets Candid On Balding & Insecurities
During this week’s episode, JoJo Siwa reveals that growing up in the spotlight was easily one of the hardest things she’s ever done. From a very young age, she had people commenting on her receding hairline. Calling attention to a bald spot beside her hair, she owns her blading.
She proceeds to explain she developed a stress rash when she was around the age of 12. Sadly, the location of the stress rash caused balding which created the receding hairline that people like to pick at her about. She adds that no 12-year-old should be so stressed out they develop a rash that causes bald spots. But, that is exactly what happened to her because she grew up in the public eye.

Now, She Embraces Alone Time
Despite being in her 20s, JoJo Siwa doesn’t embrace the idea of going out to parties and enjoying a night on the town. She shares that she is a loner and she enjoys solitude. JoJo finds safety and comfort in being alone in her home.
Furthermore, JoJo Siwa explains that going places usually ends up creating work for her. While she did not dive into details, fans can assume she is referring to getting recognized by fans when she goes places. Unfortunately, constantly getting recognized when she goes places would likely make it difficult to enjoy whatever activity she left the house to do. So, she finds herself enjoying just staying home and being alone.
JoJo Siwa Finds Comfort In Social Media
Despite the dread and stress of being constantly judged, JoJo Siwa considers social media to be her safe space. Earlier this year, she told E! News, that social media gave her a safe place to come out of the closet. A place where she knew she could find a community of people who related to her.
And I knew that I was gonna find those people and I was really excited about that. I always told myself it was gonna be easier to come out online than it was in person. And I do believe that’s very true.”
