‘Counting On’ Jason Duggar Flaunts Muscular Body In Gym

Once again, Jason Duggar, former Counting On star, is making headlines for going against the grain. The Duggar grain anyway. Fans of the family are well aware of their very strict rules around modesty. Clearly, this Duggar is breaking away from that guideline.

Very Strict Guidelines for the Duggar Girls

The Duggar family has been in the public eye for almost 20 years. Though their style has drastically changed in many ways, several rules are still the same. When the extra-large family first hit TV screens, all of the girls were dressed in Pilgrim-like dresses. Michelle stated at the time that their goal was to “draw attention to our countenance.” Over the years, we saw quite the evolution as the girls got older. They adopted more modern styles, while still adhering to the strict guidelines that Jim Bob and Michelle set for them.

The older Duggar sisters went into great detail about their dress code in their book, Growing Up Duggar. They discussed why they only wore skirts or dresses, how long their hemlines had to be, and why they avoided showing any cleavage. Contrary to popular belief, the dress code was not only for the daughters of the family.

Modest Men

Much to the dismay of, well, everyone, the Duggar boys weren’t allowed to wear shorts. In fact, in many episodes, the boys were seen wearing full-length jeans or slacks while playing basketball, running races, and even doing water activities. Probably the most shocking was that they also wore jeans to bed. The male Duggars were also expected to keep their faces clean-shaven and their hair cut short. Jason Duggar seems to be bucking all of his family’s expectations with his full beard and recent images.

Jason Following His Own Rules

Yesterday, Jason took to his Instagram stories to share some of his workout routine. He also shared a selfie that by all accounts breaks the modesty rules set forth for the Duggar boys. The image comes across as completely normal — except for the simple fact that he’s a Duggar. It’s doubtful that Jim Bob and Michelle would approve of his low-cut beard or his short shorts.

Recently, Duggar has been focusing on his health. He loves to share his progress in the gym, and what he’s learning to cook. A few weeks ago he traveled to Dallas, TX in order to participate in the Spartan Race with a friend.
