‘My 600-lb Life’: How’s S10 Mike Meginness In 2023?
My 600-lb Life alum Mike Meginness had an inspiring journey in Season 10. He was 745 pounds when he appeared in the show. The Texas native’s weight gain began as an adult. He suffered concussions during his college days, which ultimately ended his football career. Due to this, he resorted to food as his way of dealing with sadness. My 600-lb Life: Mike Meginness’ Weight Loss Journey
Mike was living with his parents and relied on them for his daily needs. However, he doesn’t want his life to stay that way. He was also determined to be present for his kids. Due to this, he followed Dr. Now’s weight loss plans and dropped enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. By the end of his episode, he had shed an impressive 235 pounds. His last reported weight was 510 lbs.
Mike was able to overcome his depression as well. He’s been active on social media and often shares motivational messages. The My 600-lb Life alum also promised that he’d continue his physical goals by the end of his episode. In August 2022, he shared a photo of himself looking a lot healthier. He also revealed in August that he’s still losing weight and has been busy being a football coach.
Mike Planning To Get His Second Surgery
Mike also shared an update about his second bariatric surgery in August. According to the former My 600-lb Life star, he has all the requirements completed except for two. He said that he still needed to lose 7 pounds. Mike Meginness also revealed that he’d still need to use his CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) due to his difficulty waking up. It’s clear to see that he’s still working towards his goals, making him one of the most inspiring patients of Dr. Now.
My 600-lb Life: Mike Meginness Got His Life Back On Track
Aside from losing weight, Mike also turned his life around and finally landed a new job. The My 600-lb Life alum presently works as an IT support. He has also been able to do daily tasks without the help of his parents and kids. He has yet to share his current weight. But it’s clear from his photos today that he dropped more than what he did during Season 10.
