What Is Hallmark’s A Not So Royal Christmas About?

Hallmark’s latest royal Christmas movie may not even be royal at all. This is a movie about a mistaken identity. What is this movie about? According to the synopsis, Charlotte is a London-based tabloid journalist. She has a knack for following a lead and getting down to the truth of any celebrity story. But, the big story is always a royal story.

Now, Charlotte is headed to Nordin, Scandinavia. She is headed there to interview Lars Ludwig Von Taylor, the Count of Sorhagen. This could be a coup as the Count is very reclusive and does not give interviews. Now, she has to meet him and convince him to talk to her!

When she arrives at the palace, Charlotte wanders around the grounds. There, she meets palace landscaper Adam. However, the savvy tabloid reporter mistakenly believes that he is the Count.

A member of the Royal Advisory Council sees their encounter. Moreover, they push Adam to give the interview as the Count. Normally, Adam would not want to do this, but he feels a connection with Charlotte. Therefore, he agrees to do the ruse. The council is relieved. This will help them keep the whereabouts of the real Count a secret, wherever that should be.

Posing as the Count, Adam takes Charlotte around. This includes a behind-the-scenes view of the annual Yuletide Ball. The staff are busily preparing the grand event.

However, “Adam raises a few royal eyebrows when, as Count Lars, he attempts to break centuries-old traditions. Things only get more complicated when a photo of the ‘Count’ is leaked to the press, which could royally derail his ruse and shatter any bond the two have formed.”
