‘Golden Bachelor’ Nancy, April & Susan Reveal Their Truths Behind Scenes
Season 1 of The Golden Bachelor brought Gerry Turner to Bachelor Nation, and his cast consisted of 22 hopeful women over 60. Ahead of the Women Tell All, Nancy Hulkower, April Kirkwood, and Susan Noles discussed their experience and focused on the positive takeaways from the show.
Golden Bachelor Contestants Speak About Gerry Turner’s Season
It’s not the first time that Nancy and April spoke about their experiences. In fact, alongside Faith Martins, they gushed about the friendships they found amongst the other women. Certainly, friends were made for life. Actually, if you think back, most of the shows in the ABC franchise produce people who became fast friends and who still keep in touch.
Out of all of the Golden Bachelor contestants, it was April who seemed the most relieved contestant after Gerry sent her home. She claimed that she felt their age difference showed. While April enjoyed modern music by Taylor Swift, he was more into music by Dean Martin. Actually, she also confessed that she never really connected with him. Additionally, she felt that he ignored her too much.

Golden Bachelor Susan Noles & Gerry Turner Ended Up As Friends
Bachelor Nation fans were fascinated when they first met Susan Noles on the show. Remember, she’s the one who looked like a dead-ringer for Kardashian momager, Kris Jenner. Well, her looks didn’t get her into Gerry’s heart as a potential partner, but they still remain friendly. Speaking out with Nancy and April this week, she told Bachelor Nation the positive side of her experience.
For Nancy, The Golden Bachelor terrified her. Although she voluntarily left the show, that doesn’t mean all of it was negative. So, she found something positive to say. She told the outlet “I’ve learned that I think I was lonely before I came here and came to the show. I feel revitalized that I did the show, that I put myself out there, and putting myself out there was a big deal for me.” As she overcame her fears of being in front of a big audience, she feels more confident now.

Golden Bachelor contestant Susan decided that after Gerry Turner, she wouldn’t go looking for men. Instead, she realized that her downfall was being “a people pleaser.” Always giving a lot, she decided that she’s stronger now. So in future, she plans to “take a step back and let them come to me. I don’t need to find them, I will just attract them.”
As for April, she felt surprised because she bonded with so many women. As she didn’t enjoy a happy time growing up, she lost confidence and a desire to be with girls after being “bullied” at school. For the first time in her life, she discovered that other women could actually “like” her. As far as she’s concerned, the women in The Golden Bachelor did more for her than any “mental health…workshop.”
