Maksim Chmerkovskiy, ‘DWTS’ Alumni, Predicts Season 32 Winner

Maksim Chmerkovskiy

With the Season 32 finale only a month away, Dancing With the Stars alumni and fan-favorite Maksim Chmerkovskiy analyzed the remaining contestants to predict who would make it to the top 3. Of course, no one can know with certainty who will take home the Mirrorball Trophy this year, but it’s fun to see if he will get it right.

Who Are Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s Picks For Top 3?

According to an interview with the U.S. Sun, Maks predicts that Artem Chigvintsev and Charity Lawson will make it to the finale. However, he doesn’t envision them taking home the trophy. He thinks it will all come down to Daniella Karagach and Jason Mraz versus Val Chmerkovskiy and Xochitl Gomez. He feels both teams are doing amazing, but he’s backing Val and Xochitl for the win.

Although predictions aren’t a sure thing, we can have some confidence in Maks’s picks. After all, he thought Laurie Hernandez would take home the Mirrorball Trophy in season 23, and he was right.

Does Maks Think The Dancing With The Stars Competition Is Rigged?

Despite the show’s popularity, rumors abound that DWTS is rigged. Joey Lawrence, who competed in Season 3 of the show, and his brother Matthew Lawrence, whose ex-wife Cheryl Burke was on DWTS for 26 seasons, speculated about the problems inside the series on their podcast Brotherly Love in September. Even Maks believed it at one time. However, he acknowledged in a recent interview that he no longer feels that way since he’s not so emotionally tied to the competition. He also shared his theory on why some fan favorites don’t win when they’re expected to. According to Maksim, it all comes down to making your performance memorable, and sometimes going first can work against you.

Will He Ever Return to DWTS?

Since Maksim competed in seventeen seasons of Dancing With the Stars, it’s easy to understand why fans have had a hard time saying goodbye. However, Maks has decided that his dancing days are behind him, at least for now. He’s busy raising his children and being a stay-at-home dad so his wife, Peta Murgatroyd, can continue to dance. Although Chmerkovskiy isn’t competing right now, he’s still very invested in the show. His wife, brother, and sister-in-law are all still involved with DWTS.

Despite saying he would never return, he did make an exception for the tribute to late judge Len Goodman this year. Perhaps if the situation presents itself again, he will make another appearance.

What do you think about Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s predictions on who will make it to the finale in Season 32 of Dancing With the Stars? Do you think Val Chmerkovskiy and Xochitl Gomez have what it takes to win the Mirrorball Trophy? Is the show really rigged? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
