‘Live’ Kelly Ripa Calls Producer Out For Phoning It In
Every year, Kelly Ripa and her co-host do a huge event for Live on Halloween. It usually entails a number of humorous sketches and countless costume changes. However, this year, Kelly called out the show’s producer for “phoning it in” during the live event. Keep reading to see why she ripped into him.
Kelly Ripa Won’t Give Michael Gelman A Break
The Halloween event isn’t the first time Kelly Ripa has given producer Michael Gelman a hard time on the show. Just last month, she told Gelman to stop talking down to her during a segment where they were discussing “exotic hamsters.”
Mark Consuelos showed the Live audience a photo of a Dalmatian-Serian Hamster named Dottie. When Kelly asked for clarification, both Mark and Michael let her know that they were discussing exotic hamsters. “So, we’re not mating Dalmatians with hamsters?” she asked.
Michael then dug at Kelly with a smart comment. “I think it probably has spots,” he said. “Ok. Don’t talk down to me!” Kelly hollered back. “I’m asking an honest question.”

She said she was sure the audience and people at home were probably wondering the same thing. Then Kelly quickly calmed down before moving to the next topic.
This came after another clapback from Kelly Ripa on the air in September. During the Stump Mark trivia game, Kelly asked to pause for a minute because she had a question, to which Michael Gelman responded, “Could we stop you?”
“You may try, Gelman, but you won’t succeed,” Kelly replied to the Live producer.
Kelly Says Gelman ‘Phones It In’ For Live Halloween Event
Kelly Ripa ripped into the Live with Kelly and Mark producer during the show’s live event. The clip was shown during a blooper reel at the end of the Halloween event.
The Live host was in a disco scene alongside producer Michael Gelman. He also appeared with Mark Consuelos in another skit that was to be aired during the annual event.

“Our restaurant has live music every night,” Michael said in the sketch. He then looked at Kelly and nodded to the cameraman, hoping for some validation before asking if the clip was right.
Kelly looked at the camera and said, “I felt like he was just phoning it in.” Michael Gelman and the rest of the crew let out a hearty laugh before it moved on to the next clip in the blooper reel.
Although it looked like Kelly Ripa was being a bit harsh on the Live producer, everyone seemed to be having a good time. That seems to be their relationship with each other.
