Cheryl Burke Bounced As Potential Bachelorette Lead, Why?
The professional dancer reveals that when she was shut down as a potential lead for The Bachelorette the blame was placed completely on Chris Harrison. Cheryl explained production told her she was a “sloppy drunk.” And, because of that, Chris didn’t think she would be a good fit for the show.
Chris Harrison appeared to be completely surprised by the accusation. He immediately proceeded to deny that he had anything to do with her being shot down as a potential lead. In fact, he asked her if production really blamed him for that.
Doubling down on his defense he pointed out that he really didn’t have the power to decide who the next lead of the show was. At the end of the day, he could give his opinion. It, however, was far from being his decision to make.
She Insisted They Blamed It On Him
Now, ABC’s Dancing With The Stars professional dancer Cheryl Burke wanted it to be clear she was not joking or lying. She added that they “absolutely” blamed the entire thing on him.
Chris Harrison thought it was hilarious. He, however, did make it just as clear that it simply wasn’t the way it happened.
Cheryl Burke Is Five Years Sober
Now, the Dancing With The Stars personality may have been a “sloppy drunk” but that is very much a thing of the past. As those who follow Cheryl know, she is a little over five years sober.
The topic of her getting denied as the lead did come up a second time while discussing her sobriety. Again, Chris Harrison made it a point to mention he had no power over who landed in the role. In fact, he admitted there were times people landed in the lead that he just didn’t think were right for the job.
Do you think production made the right decision not allowing her to be on the show? Furthermore, does Chris really think it is funny they made him the fall guy? Share your thoughts in the comments. Also, keep coming back for more news on your favorite TV shows.
