‘DWTS’ Pros Open Up About Late Len Goodman Ahead Of Tribute
The DWTS (Dancing With the Stars) pros are opening up and remembering late judge Len Goodman. They are preparing a special tribute performance to honor him and his many accomplishments. Head judge Len Goodman passes away.
Sadly, head judge Len Goodman is no longer with us. In April 2022, he passed away at the age of 78 due to prostate cancer spreading to his bones. He had just announced his retirement from DWTS in November 2022. He had been one of the main judges for 17 years and was well-loved by everyone.
A special tribute is planned for Len on Tuesday evening. Ahead of the big performance, the pros involved shared their thoughts about the late head judge.

In an exclusive interview with People, several of the Dancing With the Stars pros, Maks Chmerkovskiy, Kym Johnson-Herjavec, Tony Dovolani, and Karina Smirnoff, chatted about Len. The four of them are putting on this special tribute.
Kym talked about Len being “wonderful” while she was on the show, even if he was “grumpy” at times. She said he always had “a little glint in his eye and that cheeky wit.”
DWTS alum Karina also had a personal connection with Len and talked about the way he had a “vibrant personality” while coaching dancers. Karina went on to talk about how honored she feels “to be able to remember, respect, let people know the meaning of Len to all of us dancers, because he’s a ballroom dad — but with Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing he became a world ballroom dad.”
Former DWTS pro Maks referred to Len as a “foundation” in the ballroom, proving how big of a role the late judge played. Finally, Tony added, “What I love about Len is that he had that aura about him, that when you saw him, you knew you were in something special.”
DWTS pros return to the stage for a special tribute performance.
Kym, Tony, Maks, and Karina will pay tribute to the late judge in the best way they know how – dancing. Also joining the four former cast members are current pros Anna Trebunskaya, Edyta Śliwińska, Louis van Amstel, and Mark Ballas.
Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy choreographed the special tribute, which Karina describes as a “love letter” to Len.
This is a touching performance that fans won’t want to miss.
