‘BIP’ Serene Russell Confirms Brandon Jones Cheating Rumors

After Bachelor in Paradise couple Serene Russell and Brandon Jones broke up, fans started wondering what exactly happened. The pair got engaged during the Season 8 finale of the show. Shortly after though, it was revealed that Brandon might have cheated on Serene. Now, Serene is finally speaking out on these rumors.

Serene Russell confirms cheating rumors

After Serene Russell and Brandon shocked fans with a breakup, it was reported that a video was seen with proof that Brandon cheated on Serene, causing the end of their engagement. However, according to Us Weekly, Serene says she actually found out via social media. Apparently, a stranger tried to reach out to Serene on Instagram to tell her about the cheating scandal. Then, when Serene didn’t answer the fan’s DMs, they went to another member of Bachelor Nation who filled Serene in on the details.

Now, she’s finally talking about it. Apparently, the rumors are true. Brandon did cheat on Serene, and needless to say, that ended their engagement.

“There’s irreparable damage,’” Serene revealed during Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast today. “There was just no coming back.”

Serene continues to explain that the relationship ended amicably simply because she was so shocked about what had happened.

“I was just in shock, I think,” she says. She continues saying “I didn’t know what the future held. I was in shock for a really long time. … I’ve never felt that depressed in my life. It was hard to deal with.”

Of course, as with most relationships that end, Serene is happier now that some time has passed. She says that now she’s been able to work on trusting herself again.

“The most painful part was the loss of trust that I had in myself,” she explained. “That’s what I’ve been doing the most work on, is not beating myself up.”

Was that all?

Of course, no relationship is perfect. Serene even notes that they both could’ve been better and worked harder to keep the relationship going and strong. However, she does reveal that the couple did try out therapy. Of course, they still weren’t able to pull through.

“We both had things we could have done better in the relationship,” she added. “It was something that we were both very much still in, and we had gone to therapy, which was really cool. … It’s not this simple thing, like, ‘Oh, it just didn’t work.’ We tried to give ourselves the tools and set ourselves up for success, but there were just ultimately so many things.”
