Travis Kelce Discusses ‘Protective’ Nature Around Taylor Swift

Besides helping the Kansas City Chiefs win against the Denver Broncos and helming a podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce finds himself at the center of every tabloid as his romance with iconic singer Taylor Swift continues to thrive.

Recently, the sweethearts decided to take a little trip to New York City. And given that he stands beside one of the biggest singers in the world, their trip included a stop at Saturday Night Live, where they shocked the audience and viewers at home. While seeming to live the dream, Travis Kelce sat down on the New Heights podcast to discuss the trip and his protective nature around Swift.

Ending Up On SNL 

Although traveling with Taylor Swift comes with an enormous amount of perks, Travis Kelce’s appearance on Saturday Night Live over the weekend wasn’t his first time commanding the stage. The tight end hosted the iconic show last season. But Saturday marked his first guest appearance. Considering it to be “pretty spectacular,” Kelce admitted to his brother to not remember much of anything. “I blacked out. As soon as they came to me, the entire place erupted, which was very overwhelming, and I’m not even sure I said anything.”

Not planned at all, Travis Kelce revealed that he and Taylor Swift decided to attend the show to support Ice Spice. Not only that, but apparently, Kelce is a massive fan of Pete Davidson.

With both scheduled to be there and the Chiefs not playing on Sunday, they believed it to be the perfect time. “I had such a frickin’ blast, man, it was a star-studded back room, I’m not one to throw around names so I won’t, but it was awesome, man, and Lorne Michaels, thank you for having us.”

Travis Kelce Talks Being Protective

While traveling to New York, footage surfaced of Travis Kelce being the gentleman and helping Taylor Swift out of the SUV. Although many commented on his manners, his brother Jason asked about what happened beforehand when he placed his hand on the security guard’s back. “Have you had to enact any security of your own? Do you feel like you’re a security guard when you are with Taylor?”

Claiming that he put his hand on the security guard so as to not startle him, Travis Kelce answered, “I feel like whenever I’m on a date, I’m always having the sense that I’m a man in the situation. I’m protective, yeah, for sure. You always have to have that feeling or self-awareness, I guess.”

Travis Kelce might keep it classy when the cameras are around, but one eyewitness claimed that the pair seemed all over each other on their trip. They insisted the couple “kissed throughout the evening.”
