‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Tammy Slaton’s Doctor Gets Coveted Award
1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton owes a lot to her medical professional, Dr. Eric Smith and he just won a coveted award. It’s the award for being the “Best Bariatric Surgeon.” The humble doctor seemed less inclined to shout himself out, despite winning it more than once. But, he did shout out other people.
1000-Lb Sisters: Tammy Slaton Tried Her Doctor’s Patience
Dr. Eric Smith sometimes seemed very frustrated with Amy Halterman’s sister. After all, she didn’t seem that interested in saving her own life. However, she turned things around when she opted to get serious about rehab. Actually, that only came after she nearly died. Well, to the surprise of everyone, not only did she stay in the rehab program, but she came out with enough weight loss to get her bariatric surgery done.
The 1000-Lb Sisters star did so well, that when she visited Dr. Eric Smith on his birthday, one of the nurses at his rooms burst into tears of joy. Actually, since then, the medical professional gained a lot of followers on social media. For TLC fans, he’s become something of a hero. So, they follow him and keep up to date with the various happenings in his life.

1000-Lb Sisters Dr. Eric Smith Wins An Award
The last time that TLC fans heard from the doctor, he shared his praises for Tammy. After a fan shared a video about the incredible weight loss by Amy’s sister, the doctor shared it on his one social media. There, he said, “It’s moments like these that remind us why we should never give up on our patients.” He added, “Their strength and determination can lead to amazing accomplishments. So proud!”
The 1000-Lb Sisters‘ doctor took to his Instagram again this weekend and announced that he’d won an award. The award is given each year by the “Just Be You Bariatric Awards.” In his video, he explained that it’s a way for patients, doctors, and other people in the field to come together. Additionally, he mentioned that he won it the previous year as well.

The doctor also said:

1000-Lb Sisters fans were quick to send in their congratulations. One of them wrote, “Yay congrats!! Very well deserved ❤️.”
Meanwhile, another person penned, “Congratulations! So proud of not just for who…are a surgeon but for the man that you are. God gave you a gift and I pray you continue to use it for His glory.”
