Tammy Slaton Makes Dr. Smith’s Nurse Cry: BIG Surprise
Tammy Slaton is back in Dr. Smith’s office this week — and she actually made a nurse cry.
Throughout the course of 1000-Lb Sisters, Tammy and Dr. Smith have had their ups and downs. But ultimately, she chose to turn her life around and check into rehab after he paid her a visit at home. At the end of Season 4, he even performed her bariatric surgery.
So why did her visit this week bring a nurse to tears?

Since 1000-Lb Sisters Season 4 concluded, fans have noticed that Tammy Slaton’s appearance has changed dramatically.
In the months since her surgery, she can stand and walk on her own. And on top of that, she no longer uses her trach or oxygen. Long-time fans know that these are major steps for Tammy.
And of course, she just couldn’t wait to show Dr. Smith in person.
“Look who came to visit me on my birthday! 🥳@queentammy86” Dr. Smith captioned his Instagram post. He attached a photo of Tammy proudly walking into his office and hugging staff members.
Dr. Smith hugs Tammy and is happy to see that she’s walking on her own and doesn’t need oxygen any longer. She replies that she’s been without it for a few weeks. Off camera, a nurse apparently starts to cry.
“Are you crying?” Tammy sympathetically asks before walking over to hug the staff member. The staff member filming remarks that the crying nurse is just so happy about Tammy’s progress.

Dr. Smith and his staff weren’t the only ones impressed with Tammy Slaton’s progress. His Instagram followers flooded the comments to offer words of encouragement for the TLC star.
“Happy Birthday @doctorericsmith,” one of his followers wrote in the comments. “Seeing Tammy walk like that shows what a difference you make in people’s lives❤️❤️”
“👏👏👏👏👏 TAMMY!!!!!! I am so proud of you ❤️” another Instagram user wrote.
The 1000-Lb Sisters star is loving life these days
Tammy Slaton will need to stick to her new lifestyle changes if she wants to keep the weight off. But for now, it’s clear that Tammy is thrilled with her new body and slimmer stature.
As Dr. Smith noted onscreen, Tammy still has a long way to go before he will approve her for skin removal surgery. If she slips backward, a skin removal surgery would be completely pointless. When TLC puts out 1000-Lb Sisters Season 5, fans are excited to see Tammy inch closer to achieving her goals.
