The stink of Drew Barrymore’s attempt to bring her talk show back amid the WGA strike still hasn’t dissipated it would seem. In fact, all three of the talk show host’s WGA writers have made the decision NOT to return to her show. By trying to come back without those positions filled, Drew Barrymore implied the positions were unnecessary. Despite the strike being over, her head writers are unwilling to support someone who gave them that extreme level of disrespect. So, they decided to walk away.

Now, this does put Drew Barrymore in a bit of a bind as her talk show is slated to return in just two weeks. Fans can only assume she plans to move forward with what she had originally planned to do when the show was going to return amid the strike without her writers.

Drew Barrymore Head Writers Are DONE With Her Post Strike

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Drew Barrymore’s producers are currently scrambling. Scrambling to find new writers after Chelsea White, Cristina Kinon, and Liz Koe made the decision to quit writing for the show.

This comes as sad news for fans of the talk show as all three of these women have been with Drew since the first season. Chelsea White, Cristina Kinon, and Liz Koe, however, were all LOUD during the WGA strike. They were even photographed holding up signs that read “Honk if you [love] union labor” or “Drew’s News: Strikes.” So, they were unable to forgive Drew for what she did, and couldn’t return to work on her show because of it.

About a month ago, when the strike was ongoing, these women also spoke to the press about the decision for the show to come back. Chelsea White noted the decision was a “bummer.” She argued bringing the show back suggested the WGA writers were not valuable members of the production team.

Cristina Kinon added: “I understand that everybody has to do what they feel is best for them. For me and the WGA writers on the show, it’s important for us to stick with our union. We deserve a fair contract, so we are here today outside.”

At the time, the three writers were unsure of whether they would be able to continue working for Drew. Turns out, they have decided they cannot.

Everyone Was Mad At Her

The writers were far from the only ones who had an issue with Drew Barrymore’s decision. She was crucified on Twitter as many noted she initially torpedoed her career with this decision. Frustration grew when Drew apologized for upsetting people but continued to move forward with airing new episodes. Drew Barrymore eventually did back down. But, the damage was already done.

Will other WGA writers willingly work with Drew Barrymore now? Share your thoughts in the comments. And, keep coming back for more talk show news.
