New Return Date For ‘The Drew Barrymore’ Show Revealed

Drew Barrymore - Feature

Drew Barrymore already has eyes on a new return date after pulling the plug on the previous premiere date for the new season of her talk show. What is that new return date? Keep reading for the details.

Committed Career Suicide?

The Internet did not have good things to say about Drew Barrymore when she originally announced her talk show would be premiering last week with a new season. Fans thought it was giving major “scab” energy. And, they thought it was wildly disrespectful to move forward with the show during the strike. While Drew insisted she would be operating without writers, everyone agreed that just made it worse. Many argue the problem with moving forward without the writers suggests the writers are not necessary for the production of the show. So, it ends up hurting the value of their jobs.

Now, Drew Barrymore initially doubled down on her decision to kick off the new season last week. She took to social media and issued an emotional apology. The apology, however, felt empty as she explained she had not changed her mind. Drew argued she had a lot of people on her crew who needed to work. So, it just made sense to bring the show back.

Drew Barrymore was crucified again for apologizing for her actions without mending her actions. Likewise, many argued she had such a high net worth there was no reason why she couldn’t just pay her crew herself. On social media, people noted she went from being one of the most loved people on television to committing career suicide. Ultimately, Drew pulled the plug on the premiere. The damage, however, was already done.

Drew Barrymore Eyes New Return Date

Despite the drama and backlash, Drew Barrymore is still committed to getting her talk show back on television. According to ET, she already has her eyes on a new return date. Turns out, Drew Barrymore is hoping to get her show back on television sometime next month (October 2023).

This news comes on the heels of learning the WGA struck a “tentative deal” with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers this past weekend. As long as this deal works out, it means the WGA strike will come to an end. It, however, is important to keep in mind that the SAG strike is still full steam ahead.

With the hopes that the WGA strike will soon be over, Drew Barrymore eyes a premiere date of sometime next month. The exact date has not been released. Moreover, fans of the talk show can only assume this potential return next month will only happen after the WGA strike actually comes to an end.

Do you think Drew Barrymore should be eyeing a new return date so soon after all the backlash she received? Let us know what you think in the comments. And, keep coming back for more talk show news.
