Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos Divided Over “Weird” New Live Intro

During Wednesday’s episode of Live, Kelly Ripa and her husband kicked things off by discussing the new intro. The discussion, however, was more of an argument. Turns out, that Mark Consuelos likes the new opening montage. Kelly Ripa, however, thinks the montage is “weird.” She questions if the intro is really something anyone wants to see.

Kelly asked during the opening of Wednesday’s episode: “Does anybody else think it’s strange that we start the show with the opening, and Mark and I are spitting into a sink?”

A roar of laughter rolled through the audience as Executive Producer Mark Gelman chimed in from off the stage. He noted the intro was “real” and that is why people enjoyed it. It went with the theme of the talk show being live as the name suggests. Mark Consuelos agreed with the executive producer that the montage was very real.

Kelly Ripa, however, disagreed with both her husband and the producer. She exclaimed it was a “weird” way to open a show. She continued: “Oh yeah, it’s really real how we spin around and suddenly we’re all dressed up.”

Mark Consuelos Argues The Intro Is Relatable

Trying to reason with her, her husband Mark explained it was “relatable.” He believed it gave people at home something to connect to. Kelly Ripa stood strong on her side of the argument noting that she still believed it was “weird.”

Kelly Ripa explained it was just “really weird” to welcome people to the show by essentially spitting on them. Her husband chimed in to argue it wasn’t like it was a real sink or real spit.

It was at the beginning of this month that the talk show introduced the new intro. The intro kicks off with Kelly and Mark brushing their teeth while wearing pajamas. When they turn around, however, they are dressed and ready to go. Kelly Ripa insists the “magic” of instantly getting ready is cheesy. Moreover, she just can’t get over the spit scene being “weird.”

The real question is: Where do YOU stand on this debate? Do you agree with Kelly Ripa that the new intro is a bit “weird.” Or, do you agree with Mark that the new intro is fine because it is “relatable”? Let us know where you stand in the comments. And, keep coming back for more talk show news.
