What Triggered Jenelle To Request Protection?
Jenelle Evans made the decision to file for a restraining order and legal protection after an interview her mother had with TMZ. The interview happened back in August regarding Jace running away on two separate occasions. Jenelle noted that her mother speaking to the press caused her and her family “emotional distress.” As those who followed the story when it happened know, Jace ran away twice inside of a two-week window.
Jenelle Evan successfully got custody of her son Jace back in March of this year. Jace, however, lived most of his childhood with his grandmother Barbara taking care of him.

During her interview, Barbara seemingly blamed Jenelle Evans as the reason Jace ran away. Barbara claimed Jace has taken ADHD medication for several years. She believed Jenelle stopped giving him the meds. And, that caused him to run away. Barbara also accused Jenelle of not taking Jace to his appointments with his behavior health specialist.
Jenelle Evans Responds To Barbara’s Accusations
Jenelle responded to the accusations claiming that her mother had no idea what was going on inside of her home. Moreover, she noted that Jace still saw his therapist regularly. Jenelle Evans also accused her mother of making no attempts to speak to Jace directly before making these claims.
Teen Mom fans believe Jenelle Evans filed the protective order as a petty move because she was frustrated with her mother for speaking about her and Jace to the press. Fans’ hearts go out to Jace who is likely the one suffering the most with Barbara and Jenelle seemingly unable to get along for his sake.
