Deadliest Catch Captain Bill Wichrowski Gets Unexpected Health News

Deadliest Catch Season 19 Episode 22 ended with an unexpected cliffhanger on Tuesday night. This was the final episode of the season. Instead of ending the season with a joyful crew with a boatful of crab, they showed a grim scene from five months after the crab season finished.

Instead, they showed Wild Bill Wichrowski at the doctor’s office. They were in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The Discovery cameras were there to document this exchange. The doctor cordially asks Captain Bill Wichrowski, “How are you doing this morning?”

Looking a lot tamer than he normally is on the series, Bill responds, “I’m all right.” He then admits, ” I’m a little nervous, but you got the test results?”

The doctor then told Bill the news. “The MRIs show that your volume has enlarged.”

It turns out that this doctor is Dr. David Marshall. He is a doctor of Radiation Oncology and Muscular Health. He told Bill that his cancer had grown.

It turns out that this Deadliest Catch boat captain has prostate cancer.

What Is Wild Bill Wichrowski’s Treatment?

Throughout the Deadliest Catch Season 19, fans were wondering why they didn’t see more of Captain Wild Bill Wichrowski. Now, they know that it is because he is dealing with prostate cancer. What else did his doctor say?

Captain Bill and his physician Dr. David Marshall continued their conversation. Dr. Marshall told Bill that the treatment for his prostate cancer was to “combine radiation with the hormone therapy.”

However, the cancer doctor did not downplay the severity of this situation. “The serious news is this is prostate cancer and it definitely needs to be treated. It is a life-threatening issue.”

Captain Bill may work the most dangerous job in the world, but facing cancer is very tough. Therefore, it is of no surprise that when he got the news, he looked down, with his hands covering his eyes.
