The Golden Bachelor Takes Over L.A.

ABC has a brand-new take on The Bachelor, and they don’t want you to miss it. The network finally made good on their tease of a senior version of the dating show with The Golden Bachelor.

Viewers will watch 71-year-old widower Gerry Turner look for love again among 22 contestants. All of the women competing on the show are 60 or older.

With a shakeup of the Fall TV schedule, ABC is on a major promotional blitz to drum up interest in the upcoming show. They took over the L.A. food scene over the weekend with food trucks in various locations offering free “golden goodies.”

The show’s official Twitter promoted the event, which ran from September 22 to 24.

If you’re in L.A. and missed the food truck, you have another chance to get in on the promotion. Randy’s Donuts is offering a special donut all this week in anticipation of the premiere.

Due to scheduling changes, The Golden Bachelor is moving to Thursdays this Fall. It premieres on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8 PM Eastern on ABC, followed by Bachelor In Paradise at 9 PM Eastern.

Meet Three New Jersey Women Vying For Gerry Turner’s Golden Rose

With 22 women vying for camera time and Gerry Turner’s attention, it can be difficult for fans to get to know the women individually. Once the show airs later this week, it will be clearer which women are frontrunners and which are forgettable.

Let’s take a look at three women viewers might want to keep a close eye on. Anna, Maria, and Theresa all hail from New Jersey, but that doesn’t mean they’re another Garden State cliche like another reality show Teresa.
