It’s not often that a contestant turns all four coaches around, but Jordan Rainer’s performance on Monday’s episode of The Voice left each coach in awe.

Season 24 of The Voice will debut Monday night on NBC, but one contestant has seemingly stolen the show already. Equipped with a Reba McEntire hit single, Jordan Rainer had all four coaches engaged in a bidding war after she finished her performance. The 33-year-old Oklahoma Native sang McEntire’s 1990 hit single “Fancy” during her blind audition. Dressed in all black and sporting a pair of sunglasses, Rainer wasted little time in showing off her pipes.

McEntire’s rendition is a cover of the 1969 song originally written by trailblazing songwriter Bobbie Gentry. In an interview with Taste Of Country, McEntire spoke about Gentry’s impact on her. “I’m just a huge fan. I think she’s a genius. Great songwriter, beautiful woman, great singer and it’s just been kind of a — she’s a mystery woman,” McEntire said of Gentry.

With McEntire among the panel of coaches, Rainer was able to continue the legacy of the song.

Jordan Rainer’s Performance On The Voice

After hearing just a few seconds of Jordan Rainer’s performance, McEntire was already smiling ear to ear. The country music legend appeared to know exactly what was in store. It didn’t take too long until the other three judges joined in with excitement. Niall Horan looked speechless as Rainer continued her performance. Gwen Stefani and John Legend each bobbed their heads as Stefani pointed over to McEntire while mouthing the words “It’s her song.”

It only took about 50 seconds before McEntire decided that she had already heard all that she needed to before turning her chair around. Stefani and Horan quickly followed right behind Reba’s lead. After taking an extra 20 seconds, Legend couldn’t help but hit that button as well. It’s not a regular occurrence when each coach turns around, so it’s obvious that they each liked what they heard from Rainer.

What The Coaches Said About Jordan Rainer’s Performance

Despite being the last coach to turn his seat around, Legend was the first to chime. He praised Rainer’s ability as a singer. “I heard an exceptional vocalist on this stage. Any of us will be lucky to work with you,” Legend said. He then asked Rainer about her decision to sing “Fancy’ out of all of Reba’s songs.

Rainer didn’t hesitate in her reply. “Because it’s the best,” she confidently said. “Honestly, it was written by a strong woman. It was made famous by a strong woman. And it represents lyrically what women do to survive. And I’m a woman who has done what I’ve had to do to survive.  So I feel that song in every bone in my body.”

After Stefani and Horan each made their pitch to Rainer to join their teams, it was Reba’s turn to speak. “If you did choose me as your coach, you know we’d have a blast,” McEntire said before she was interrupted by Horan as he pressed his button again. Reba then stepped in front of Horan, blocking his button. “We would have such a good time together talking about old times in Atoka, Oklahoma. And I would keep you away from Niall the whole time because he’s a wild man.”

No matter who Rainer decides to join, Season 24 is already shaping up to be a good one.
