MTV star Cory Wharton is now calling out the network’s casting couch. He feels that he was deprived of an opportunity that he really wanted. Then, what he ultimately saw made him realize something fishy was in the air so he had to speak up about it. What exactly is going on? Read on for more details.

Cory Wharton Disgruntled By MTV’s Casting Couch, Why?

Known for his time on Teen Mom, Cory Wharton, and Cheyenne Floyd share a daughter, Ryder. They have learned how to co-parent as they have both moved on and added more kids to their brood. At the same time, Cory has adrenaline in his blood so he can be seen on The Challenge, as well. He was even seen telling Ryder that he would be leaving to head to compete at one point which was really bittersweet. As time has gone on, he has had to deal with his daughter, Maya’s heart problems which have been extremely hard. So, these challenges seem to keep him level as he is able to get his aggression out.

However, there was one show he really wanted to get on and that was Peacock’s The Traitors. According to Monsters & Critics, Cory Wharton has been keeping himself busy with The Challenge: USA 2. Yet, he had expressed interest in participating in Big Brother. Then, he added that he wanted to be a part of the cast of The Traitors, which included a bevy of reality stars. Apparently, he was told that he could not appear in the series. Then, he was shocked to learn that the second season had four Challenge cast members so he was not that thrilled.

He shared the whole story on Twitter/X. It seems that Cory Wharton was set to head to Scotland for Season 1. Then, literally, as he was getting ready to head out, he was informed he could not leave. Clearly, he was stunned to see his cast mates on the second installment after being told no.

Why Though?

So why can’t Cory Wharton join this series? It has been suggested that he has enough going on, especially with a Teen Mom contract. Even Jemmye Carroll, who was on The Challenge with Cory, said: “def [thinks] it was more related to his teen mom contract.” The Traitors also were able to apparently recruit the likes of Johnny “Bananas” and Trishelle Canatella who have longevity in the MTV world. They also have name recognition so that could be another reason. Maybe Cory will step back from TM in order to get to Season 3.

Why do you think Cory did not make it to the cast of The Traitors? Would you have liked to see him on there? Let us know in the comments below.
