‘Sister Wives:’ Does Robyn Brown Get Approval Over Episodes?
Does Robyn Brown dictate what Sister Wives producers share on TV?
Over the years, many viewers have grown suspicious that Robyn pulls some strings behind the scenes. TV crews rarely film inside her home. On top of that, many family members have said that Robyn and Kody are much worse in real life than they are on the show. So what’s going on in the production room?
As it turns out, the cast members do have some say over footage that makes it into the final episode. However, they don’t have as much control as some may think. Keep reading to learn more.
Is Robyn Brown controling the production room?
So does Robyn Brown get to approve episodes before they air on TLC? Redditors recently debated the topic on the platform.
“Robyn has to ‘approve the episode,'” a Redditor titled their post recently. “Okay, I really enjoyed listening to Mykelti’s live last night and found lots of details interesting but this is the one I keep thinking about. Someone asked if Robyn watches the show and Mykelti said she doesn’t think so but that Robyn has to approve the episode so she does see that although it isn’t the final edited version.”
“I had no idea this was a step in reality tv. Does anyone know more about this?” the OP continued. “Is it just her (Robyn’s) parts? Or what exactly is she approving? And – oh my goodness that means she (& all of them) have seen so much more of each other’s stuff than I was thinking.”
Other Reddit users offered their own opinions based on information gathered from other family members. While it does appear that Robyn and the other adults have some say over what makes it onto TV, they don’t completely have total control of the show.
“Gwen has said that all the parents see a rough cut of the episode in advance for approval; they don’t see the final edit though,” another Redditor chimed in. “And they have to have grounds for objecting to something. I think it does mainly concern representations of the minor children, but it can also include things like personal health information that they don’t want disclosed.”
The drama continues in Season 18
As Season 18 continues, more and more Sister Wives viewers are seeing Robyn Brown as the true villain. Amid the Christmas drama, Robyn also revealed she got involved in a text thread between the kids. It reportedly started out as a text thread about a Christmas gift exchange, but somewhere in the messages, Robyn revealed that her children felt neglected and pushed away. As a result, they opted to have their own Christmas without the others.
Although the Christmas storyline hasn’t painted Robyn in the best light, many fans can’t help but wonder if there was any more incriminating footage that she asked to leave out.
