The Dancing With The Stars Season 32 Premiere airs on September 28th via ABC and Disney+ simulcast. The new season comes as a bittersweet moment for fans as it will be the first without the sweet, smiling face of Len Goodman on the judge. As DWTS fans know, Len Goodman had announced during the Season 31 semi-finals his plans for retirement.

Sadly, Dancing With The Stars fans later learned the retirement was partly because Len Goodman knew something no one else knew. He was dying. Tragically, the dancing competition judge passed away in April of this year, just three days before his 79th birthday. His cause of death was determined to be losing his battle with bone cancer.

DWTS Season 32 Promises Emotional Len Goodman Tribute

Speaking to People Magazine, Alfonso Ribeiro took the time to reassure DWTS fans that the show would honor Len Goodman’s memory in the new season. Likewise, Alfonso clarified that everyone was still crafting routines that would have appealed to Len Goodman. They would be performing as if he was still there in spirit. Moreover, the TV personality believes there won’t be a dry eye in the audience or among viewers at home during the emotional tribute the show has planned.

He shared about the professional dancers on the show: “I know I’ve talked to a few of them and they will be putting in specific steps that Len used to love, just to make sure that the content is still there for Len.”

“It’ll be amazing. I mean, he was the best,” Alfonso added as he teased of the tribute. The way Alfonso Ribeiro spoke to People Magazine suggested the details had not been hammered out for the emotional tribute just yet. But, he knew the show had big plans to honor Len’s memory.
