Jason Thompson Tearfully Honors Late Billy Miller

Soap opera star Jason Thompson tearfully honored the late Billy Miller. His former co-star passed away on September 15, 2023, and it has crushed the soap community. Now, Thompson is sharing how he feels about losing a buddy and an amazing actor, as well. Read on for all of the details.

It has been a tough few days since Billy Miller passed away at 43. More so, he was so beloved by everyone who met him and came in contact with the actor. Sadly, it seems that he had too many demons that he just could not overcome and a tragic ending has been suggested. Now, his former General Hospital co-star, Jason Thompson is opening up about losing his good friend in a tearful sendoff that has social media grieving with him. According to Michael Fairman TV, Thompson took to his Instagram to share how he felt about Billy.

He shared a reel, talking about their history together. Though they were originally both on GH, with Jason as Dr. Patrick Drake and Billy as Jason Morgan, a shift would happen. Over at The Young and the Restless, Billy Miller would play the role of Billy Abbott. He did this from 2008 through 2014 then two years later, Thompson took over the part. So, they are extremely connected. Next to the video, Jason said this: “Billy was a special actor. My heart goes out to his family, his friends that loves him so much, our cast mates and his many, many fans.”

He went on to write: “Billy-thank you for keeping me honest. For as long as the opportunity is mine, I will forever dedicate myself to the history you built for Billy Abbott on @youngandrestlesscbs. Light and love, my friend. ❤️” GH co-star Finola Hughes immediately told Jason how beautiful it was. Lauralee Bell sent a heart emoji while followers felt his pain deeply. Not just that they lost an amazing actor but that a whole community lost a great friend.

Good Buddies

It was clear that Jason Thompson and Billy Miller had a great comradery with one another. They fed off of each other and now, Thompson gets to carry the torch on Y&R. Though he loved his role before, it must be even more special because he is playing it for Billy, as well. Hopefully, the soap community can find solace in each other during this very difficult time.
