In a thread on Reddit, one fan pointed out that back in Season 13 of Sister Wives Christine Brown was still “drinking the Kody Brown Kool-Aid.” The fan, however, argued there was no excuse for her energy or the cruel way she treated her children at the time.
Sadly, Christine Brown ignored and dismissed all of the concerns her daughters Truely and Gwendlyn tried to share with their mother about uprooting their lives when they moved to Flagstaff. Going against the diagnosis of a medical professional, Christine Brown shrugged off the progression of Ysabel’s scoliosis. And, she allowed her daughter to continue to remain in pain.
She was even clocked picking on Gabe until he became upset regarding the move. And, fans suspected this was just to stir the pot for the plot of the TV series.
The OP of the Reddit thread added that Aspyn had “reasonable questions” about the move to Flagstaff. And, Christine refused to validate them with a conversation.
“All for…what? I’m assuming Kody was sleeping with her more then? If she actually cared about her children as much as she alleges, she would have gotten out long before.” The OP questioned.

Recalling these specific episodes, one fan recalled Gwendlyn Brown telling her mother she didn’t like the idea of moving to Flagstaff. The fan said Christine responded by telling Gwendlyn it wasn’t a huge deal because she only had a few years of high school left and then she could move somewhere else.
The fan added: “It’s just an absurd thing to say, but it reminded me that she basically kicks out all of her kids when they turn 18. (Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Gwen, etc).”
I know Season 13 Christine was still deep into drinking the Kody Kool-aid, but….damn was she sucky and gaslighty, esp to her kids.
