‘My 600-lb Life’: Huge Nathan & Amber Prater Update
My 600-lb Life alums Nathan and Amber Prater are one of the few couples in the show. They appeared in Season 10 and were struggling in their lives. Nathan was supposedly the only patient of Dr. Now. However, the bariatric surgeon saw his wife and thought that they were suffering from the same condition. Since then, they have worked hard to achieve the same goal of shedding weight. My 600-Lb Life: Nathan & Amber Prater Continue To Pursue Weight Loss Goals
Nathan first arrived at the show at 607 pounds, while his wife scaled at around 500 lbs. Due to this, Dr. Now took action for the married couple and gave them strict diet plans. They both worked hard and eventually got accepted for their weight loss surgery. Nathan was able to drop over 250 pounds from the procedure and a strict diet of 1,200 calories as well as not eating anything after 6 p.m. His wife didn’t exactly share how much she lost. But they have kept in touch with their fans online regarding their journey.
In August 2021, Nathan shared that he had reached the milestone of 450 pounds. His significant other has also been sharing her exercise routine. She revealed adding physical activities as part of their family’s activities. Last month, Amber revealed that she has been addicted to healthy drinks.
Nathan & Amber Are Now Back On Track
Losing weight also brought the married couple back into their careers. Nathan Prater is now thriving as a Theatre Director at Palestine Independent School District. He also took to social media earlier this month to share that it’s been a dream of his to write a play. Meanwhile, Amber has been living her best life teaching in the Tyler Independent School District. She doesn’t usually share photos of herself. Though she loves uploading pictures of her children from her first husband.

Amber took to Facebook in June to share a sweet Father’s Day message with her husband. According to the former My 600-lb Life star, Nathan has been a great stepfather to her kids. It’s unclear if they’re still planning to have children of their own. Though they seem satisfied with what they have today.
Amber and Nathan Prater are truly one of the most inspiring couples on the show. It’s only been two years since they met Dr. Now. But they have already achieved a lot in their journey to lose weight.
