Welcome to Plathville Season 5 Premieres Tonight
Fans are eager to catch up with the Plath family. Fortunately, the wait is finally over as the series returns on Tuesday, September 5. It’s sure to be another intense season. Viewers will see how Kim and Barry Plath are navigating their lives after their divorce. Also in the new season, Moriah Plath is on a faith journey. Plus, Ethan and Olivia face relationship challenges of their own.
Olivia Plath Worries As Ethan Heads Home
Ahead of the premiere, TLC shared an exclusive preview with People. In the clip, Ethan is getting ready to head back home to Cairo, Georgia. This is where he grew up and where his family still lives. Surprisingly, he’s leaving Olivia behind for his two-and-a-half-month stay. His plan is to work on his cars, which is his passion.
Of course, splitting up like this isn’t easy. Olivia admitted, “I’m feeling kind of torn. I understand the importance of him working on his cars and getting those finished. But I’m not gonna lie and say that, like, I don’t feel nervous or anxious. Living apart from your spouse for two-and-a-half months is honestly really scary. Especially when, you know, there’s a lot of family stuff involved.”
Before her husband left, Olivia asked him if he’d still talk to her while he was gone. He promised he would call her daily. It turns out that in the past, he hasn’t been great at communication while back in Cairo because he’s busy with his cars and his family. But he knows it’s important to stay in touch. He added, “She was like, ‘You can’t just disappear, because that’s my worst fear.'”
The new season premieres just months after Ethan and Olivia’s divorce rumors began flying. Fans are interested in seeing where their relationship stands by the end of the season.
