Gabby Windey Reveals Battle With ‘Bachelorette’ Producers
Gabby Windey is speaking out about how producers controlled her every move during her time on ABC’s The Bachelorette. Keep reading for more on her battle with producers.
Gabby Windey Reveals Shocking Relationship Update
Season 19 of The Bachelorette was one for the history books. It was the first time in franchise history that two women were co-leads for the entire season. Previously, the male contestants chose between Kaitlyn Bristowe and Brit Nilsson to decide which woman would lead Season 11.
The show replaced Clare Crawley with Tayshia Adams in Season 16 after Crawley found love with Dale Moss almost immediately.
Season 19 ended in two engagements, with Rachel Recchia saying ‘Yes” to Tico Franco and Gabby Windey accepting Erich Schwer‘s proposal. However, neither engagement lasted long.
Since her failed engagement, Windey kept her dating life mostly private. Until August of 2023, when she appeared on The View with a shocking update.
She came out as bi, revealing that she was dating comedian Robby Hoffman. The former Bachelorette recently revealed how her former male partners took the news.
Details How Intimacy Is Different With A Woman
Weeks after her appearance on the ABC talk show, Gabby Windey joined former Real Housewives star Bethenny Frankel for a chat on her Just B podcast. Frankel recently came under fire for having Vanderpump Rules’ Rachel Leviss on the podcast after Leviss’ tawdry affair with co-star Tom Sandoval.
During the episode, aptly titled “Unfiltered and Raw Tell-All,” Gabby Windey shared some details about her s*x life with her new girlfriend.
According to Windey, she feels “safer” with Hoffman than she has with men in the past. “I feel less judged. There’s nothing off limits. If I have a question, I’m going to ask, before, after, during,” she said, as quoted by E Online.
She added that sometimes with men, there were “unrealistic expectations” in the bedroom due to a lack of communication.
From the sounds of it, Gabby Windey is enjoying her new romance. However, the same can’t be said of her tense interactions with the producers on the hit ABC show.
Gabby Windey Admits Bachelorette Producers Were Controlling
Throughout the years, Bachelor and Bachelorette alums have been open about how the producers manipulate the show. Gabby Windey is the latest to co-sign that accusation.
During her interview on Just B, the Los Angeles transplant shared details on one of her biggest battles with the producers. According to Windey, producers refused to let her dye her hair while they were filming the show.
She revealed that she got highlights right before filming, which didn’t sit well with the producers. She claims that they “sent in a team” to change the co-lead’s hair back to a dark color.
Her co-lead, Rachel Recchia, is blonde, and the producers likely didn’t want them to look too similar.
However, Gabby Windey recalls “crying on the phone, screaming at a producer” over the hair disagreement. After the show ended, she returned to the blonde hair that producers forbade, per The U.S. Sun.
