Moonshiners fans who love singing reality star Jim Tom Hedrick may be alarmed about his current news. Everyone remembers this charismatic moonshine veteran who loved to sing his special moonshine song. Also, Jim Tom can weave a great story. This is part of the magic of this reality series.

Of course, he is famous for making rye liquor in his copper stills. For 50 years, he was making white lightning the moonshine way. It has been a few years since he has been on the Discovery show. Therefore, fans may not know what he has been doing of late.
Here is the latest information on the Discovery star and beloved moonshine veteran.
What Happened To Moonshiners Alum Jim Tom Hedrick?
Over the weekend the Moonshiners Facebook page Mark &Digger Shiners Club made a surprising post. They shared a post from their visit to Jim Tom Hedrick. Also, they showed the long-time moonshiner lying bare-chested in a hospital-like bed looking a little pale, but obviously happy to see his visitors.
They wrote, “Prayers for our buddy Jim Tom! Praying for comfort and peace! We love you JT!”
At first sight, this looks like a hospital bed. But, as there are some personal artifacts and photos on the wall. Therefore, it may be an assisted living home or the family set up a comfortable room for the 82-year-old businessman and moonshine specialist.
However, fans should not be too alarmed. He may be lying low, but he is still kicking. He was looking at his smartphone and reading messages. It is very possible he saw such warm greetings as those shared by fans on this post.
One friend wrote, “Prayers for my friend Jim Tom, may the love of God heal you and give you peace what a wonderful person.”
Another fan wrote, “I’m praying for you big time! Since I laid my eyes on you on the show, you’ve been my favorite guy! You have the best outlook on life and your character is one of a kind. Your big heart shines through your smile & your laugh makes me giggle! Not to mention the things you come up with to say & do are the greatest!”
Others shared the same sentiments. Besides prayers, they pointed out how much Jim Tom made them laugh.
In addition, there is no information on his overall health or any particular ailments. When you are 82, life in general can be hard on your body. No matter what, Jim Tom has never let anything take him down.

It has been six years since the Moonshiners fan-favorite left the Discovery series. What happened? After over 50 years making moonshine, Jim Tom went legitimate! He started his own company, cheekily called Sugarlands Shine. The Gatlinburg, Tennessee company has a distillery tour, as well as products called Jim Tom’s Signature Moonshine, and Pickle’s Dynamite Cinnamon Moonshine.
