Born as Gary Winthrope, Danny Duncan is the name of an incredibly popular YouTuber. Hailing from Florida, Danny was born in 1992. The young talent has been uploading videos to YouTube since 2014.

He ended up discovering his niche was pulling pranks and practical jokes on individuals. This genre is extremely popular on both YouTube and TikTok. It, however, is an acquired taste. So, individuals who don’t care for shows like Impractical Jokers on television likely wouldn’t enjoy Danny’s videos.

To date, Danny has a combined following on Instagram and YouTube of a little over 10M.

According to The Sun, it was a video he uploaded to his channel titled “We Jumped My Car Through an RV!” that caused his death to trend on social media. Check out the video below:

In 10 hours since he uploaded the video, it has been watched over 600K times. The heartstopping transition of the video left some of his subscribers fearing he was dead (or seriously injured). As the video progressed, it appeared as if he was inside the RV when his Mustang crashed into it.

Now, Danny Duncan definitely was not in the RV and was fine. But, the video was enough to cause some to put “RIP Danny” in the comments. And, those comments allowed a death hoax to grow legs. Overnight, the comments continued to add fuel to the death hoax. By morning, his death was trending and made headlines despite the fact that he was very much alive and well. Here’s some of what his followers had to say about the scary transition in the video:

  • “My HEART DROPPED when he got hit in the RV”
  • “Mad respect. This guy literally gives the most goosebumped episodes. I love this one”
  • “That transition has so clean I almost had a heart attack”

Fortunately, Danny Duncan is the latest YouTuber and social media influencer to become the victim of a death hoax. With a combined following on YouTube and Instagram of 10M, it didn’t take long for the hoax to gain traction as more fans panicked.
