‘Today’ Savannah Guthrie MIA, Fan Favorite Takes Her Spot
Today host Savannah Guthrie is MIA, so a fan favorite is taking her spot. Recently, fans have seen a few hosts coming and going for various reasons. Naturally, when they are absent, fans have questions and hope they are okay. Sometimes, these absences are unexplained, prompting more questions and concerns. Now, Savannah is the one missing from the morning talk show. What’s going on?
Today viewers have seen several recent absences.
If you regularly watch Today, you may have noticed that there have been frequent absences over the past several weeks. Different hosts and anchors have missed their typical segments, leaving others to fill their shoes.
As we reported, Savannah Guthrie recently took her daughter, Vale, to see Taylor Swift. Craig Melvin spent some time away on a family vacation. Others have been absent here and there, forcing their colleagues to fill their seats.
Now, Savannah is in and out again. What’s going on?

Last week, Savannah was out for a couple of days. On both Wednesday and Thursday, Craig Melvin stepped up to the plate. However, as we reported, she came back on Friday, resuming her typical role. Fans were thrilled to see her again and glad to hear that she was okay. She also informed viewers that she had been out for a couple of days because she was under the weather.
Upon her return to the show, the Today star embraced a new look, including bold, thick glasses and a pop of color on her lips. Despite being sick for the couple of days prior, she looked happy and well-rested.
Though she was on Today on Friday, Savannah has disappeared once again. On Monday morning, the beloved host was MIA, and this time, her colleagues offered no further details. Hoda Kotb, a fan favorite, filled in. Craig Melvin also made sure the show went on while his co-host was absent.
It’s possible that Savannah Guthrie thought she was well enough to return on Friday but actually needed some additional rest. Or maybe there’s another reason for her absence.
Hopefully, Savannah isn’t dealing with anything too serious and will be back and better than ever very soon. Naturally, her fans are concerned about her health but understand that these things happen. She’s been laying low on social media and is hopefully taking good care of herself.
