In an exclusive interview as part of the press tour for the Season 18 Premiere of Sister Wives, Janelle Brown dropped a bit of a bombshell on fans. Turns out, Janelle and Kody Brown have had a pretty rocky relationship over the years. A relationship that has resulted in them temporarily separating on a few different occasions before getting back together.

Janelle Brown Gets Candid About Several Separations With Kody

Janelle and Christine Brown sat down with People Magazine ahead of the Season 18 Premiere for an exclusive interview. During one portion of the interview, the discussion was entirely about Janelle and her relationship with Kody. Christine was there for moral support. But, Janelle did most of the talking.

Christine was happy to chime in when Janelle struggled to find an answer. And, Christine did react with shock to a few of Janelle’s answers. For example, Christine had no idea Janelle didn’t really consider herself divorced because she wasn’t legally married.

While chatting about her relationship with Kody, Janelle Brown fesses up that she and Kody had a few moments over the years where they butted heads. One happened to be right before the family moved to Flagstaff. Turns out, Janelle was so upset with Kody that she made the decision to stay behind. Christine admitted she was genuinely concerned Janelle was leaving them. Janelle insisted she stayed behind for a while before finally making the move.

Why Did She Stay So Long?

Janelle Brown admits the reason she stuck around with Kody for as long as she did was because of her children. There were plenty of times when they separated and she wanted to call it quits. But, she didn’t think it was fair to take the stability of her family away from her kids. So, she stayed. And, she tried to make it work. Now, she doesn’t have young children in the house anymore. So, she had this freedom to choose what made her happy. And, she finally made the decision to be done with Kody.

Janelle Brown hopes to find another plural marriage one day. But, she isn’t banking on it because she just doesn’t think the lifestyle really exists too much anymore in a successful capacity because most men can’t handle it. For now, however, she has plans to spend at least the next decade as a single woman.
