‘Celebrity Family Feud’ Shocked Steve Harvey Apologizes

Celebrity Family Feud host Steve Harvey apologized after a shocking moment on the show.

Contestants often disagree on the nature of their competitors’ answers. But things got a little dicey on the show after one celebrity contestant answered something that didn’t seem to fit the answer to the clue. An embarrassed Steve apologized to a disgruntled Pete Holmes over the incident. Read on to find out why Jared Padalecki’s time on Celebrity Family Feud led to an apology from Steve.

Steve Catches Heat For Questions on Celebrity Family Feud

Steve Harvey is no stranger to controversy over Family Feud and its spin-off game series, Celebrity Family Feud. Now and then, either a clue will come up that has eyebrows raised, or a contestant will respond with something shocking and NSFW.

But Steve found himself catching heat again recently over one particular showdown between the casts of Real Housewives of Orange County and Real Housewives of Atlanta. It was a West Coast versus East Coast battle. For RHOC, Heather Dubrow, Emily Simpson, Gina Kirschenheiter, Shannon Beador, Tamra Judge, and Jen Armstrong took the podium. RHOA stars Kenya Moore, Drew Sidora, Shereé Whitfield, Marlo Hampton, and Sanya Richards-Ross opposed them.

The contestants are expected to give answers based on polled questions asked to the audience. Whoever chooses the answer with the largest number of poll responses wins the round. One question had the show in hot water, however. The question wondered what you would rather see a man and woman do rather than two men. One of the answers on the board was “make out.”

Fans of the show blasted the questions as outdated. Other questions seemed to focus on body-shaming responses which also stirred ire among fans.

But it was another Celebrity Family Feud episode that prompted host Steve Harvey to apologize.

On August 13, comedian Pete Holmes and his family went head-to-head with Supernatural actor Jared Padalecki and his family. Jared and his family were asked, “Tell me a scent you’d be shocked to see as an air freshener.” One of Jared’s team members, Michelle, responded, “Microwaved fish.” Steve looked surprised by the answer. The board flipped over the response, “Food/broccoli.”

But Pete took exception to the vague response. He quipped, “So any food? “Any food gets the answer? That is nonsense. I say butter, cream, food? Fish?” Pete then prompted Steve, “Steve, I feel you with me on this.” Pete then turned to guttural noises to prove his point, saying, “Why not any sound gets the number one answer!? Just go ‘Argh argh argh’ number one answer.”

A helplessly bemused Steve Harvey responded, “I’m so sorry.”

Jared then chimed in playfully, “‘Argh argh argh’ is number four.” This response sent Steve over the edge and he burst into laughter.
