RHOC How Heather Dubrow Saved Husband’s Life

When Heather Dubrow joined the RHOC cast in Season 7, she prided herself on a few things. She was a hands-on mother, she was an actress, and she kept her home running for her family. Along with her husband, plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow, the couple have four children. They ended up moving into a massive home which Heather always micromanaged but she did say that she missed her career. She ended up getting back into it but eventually, she and her family exited the series after Season 11. Terry had his own reality series, Botched, and their children were growing up.

Fast forward to Season 16  of RHOC and Heather Dubrow returned. Her family had evolved but, of course, there was still drama, especially this season. As for her marriage, there will always be rumors but they seem to be holding steady since 1999. Now, Terry has Heather to thank for being alive. According to TMZ, Heather was out to dinner with Terry and their son last Thursday, August 3rd. Out of the blue, his speech was slurred but for a very short time. It was literally less than sixty seconds. However, Heather felt that was enough to be concerned.

Heather Dubrow had their son call 911 for help despite Terry not wanting this to happen. At this point, he felt completely fine. Luckily, Heather’s instincts were on point though it took some time to get there. Paramedics checked Terry out and assured him that he was fine and he even left the ambulance. Finally, she chatted with some friends who ultimately convinced Terry that he should seek professional attention. That was when they learned that he actually had a TIA (transient ischemic attack).

What Is A TIA?

Essentially, the blood was blocked from flowing to the brain therefore it can mimic a stroke. Additionally, a hole in Terry’s heart was found that had been there since he was born. Since it did not close up properly, a blood clot went through the area and led to the TIA. In the end, the doctors were able to close up the hole or PFO (patent foramen ovale). He has been able to go back to leading the life that he loves. Yet, had Heather Dubrow not been proactive as she was, a stroke could have been in his future.

Are you shocked that this one moment of slurring led Heather to know something was wrong? Let us know and watch RHOC Wednesdays on Bravo.
