Big Brother: CBS Drops Hammer, Luke Valentine Kicked Off Show

According to Variety, CBS issued an official statement on Luke Valentine using a racial slur. Not only did the network issue a statement, but a decision was made. Effective immediately, the network removed Luke from the game.

The network told Variety that Luke Valentine violated the “code of conduct” all houseguests agree to when entering the game.

Luke violated the Big Brother code of conduct and there is zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur. He has been removed from the house. His departure will be addressed in Thursday night’s show.”

What Happened?

As TV Shows Ace previously reported, Luke was having a conversation with Jared Fields, Cory Wurtenberger, and Hisam Goueli when he messed up and casually dropped the “n-word” at the end of his sentence.

As those who watched the live feed clip know, Luke Valentine instantly knew he had messed up. Right after the incident, the houseguest covered his mouth and had a horrified expression plastered across his face. In a moment of regret, he quickly apologized for his mistake.

Big Brother Season 15 Winner Andy Herren Agrees With CBS

Season 15 winner of Big Brother, Andy Herren, took to Twitter after the video of Luke casually using a racial slur started making rounds on social media. The previous houseguest believed the only right way to handle the situation was to remove Luke from the game.

Andy explained it was important for CBS to remove Luke to “set an example” for the rest of the houseguests.

Production loves hiding racism and homophobia and transphobia when straight white men are involved. Hoping they actually do the right thing and address Luke’s comment. The way it so casually came out of his mouth is really upsetting.”

The previous Big Brother was not alone in his thoughts o Luke Valentine. Many viewers at home agreed. They agreed it was alarming how casually he said the word as well.
