GMA Loses Three Fan Favorites Including Robin Roberts

It appears that GMA is out three fan favorites, one of them being Robin Roberts. This is a huge blow for a morning show as viewers depend on these anchors to help them start their day. Furthermore, they deliver important news, politics, do interviews, have comradery, and so much more. So, what is going on? Why are three people leaving all at once but more importantly, when are they coming back to their seats? Fans tend to feel better when they know that there are set dates for the returns.

According to The Sun, Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts, and George Stephanopoulos were all absent Friday, August 4th. This may have been okay had fans known they were not going to be there. In their seats for the morning were Eva Pilgrim, Whit Johnson, and Rebecca Jarvis. The show has been a bit of a merry-go-round lately with anchors on and off. Rebecca and Whit have filled in as has Deborah Roberts who is married to Al Roker.

Unfortunately, there was no reason given as to where the three GMA regulars were but they do have other lives. Michael Strahan is currently at the Hungarian Grand Prix while George is a filmmaker. He and his wife worked on the Brooke Shields Hulu Doc, Pretty Baby which garnered two Emmy nominations. Finally, Robin Roberts is preparing to get married to her longtime partner. This is a huge deal and will likely take her away for some time when the event actually happens. Yet, there will be some warning so fans will be ready.

Wedding Season

GMA anchor Robin Roberts will likely be taking time off in the near future as she is planning for her wedding to Amber Laign. The couple has been together for nearly two decades through sickness and health. Robin teased that her wedding is right around the corner but not necessarily in August. When that day does come, she will undoubtedly want to savor it along with a honeymoon. It is anyone’s guess who will fill her spot during that time. Plus, depending on when and where the wedding is, her co-hosts may be joining in on the celebration.

Do you miss Robin, George, and Michael when thet are not on GMA together or do you like when they mix it up? Let us know in the commments below.

  1. I feel like GMA has been raped. The Trio are great together and highy enjoyable. Truthfully I have not seen anyone who has substituted who could in future replace a single one of the Trio. I hate anyone of them is headed elsewhere. GMA has been a morning staple for me. The only criticism I have is too much segments on entainment should be more emphasis on national, foreign and domestic news.

  2. I will not watch the show if any of them are taken off. all three make the show what it is. if its now break don’t fix it. all three of them are natural human beings and that is what we need on Tv this day in age!

  3. Yes I Love GOOD MORNING AMERICA when all three of them are together,it makes the show, its not the same when one is out are others take their places!

  5. NO, will not watch when those 3 are off, or done. When you have a good thing going, why change it ?? These 3 are so good together, no one can do the job like they do.

  6. I must have missed the GMA program, because I didn’t realize they were gone. We all need a break from our routine once in a while, to refresh and clear our minds. They have been around for a good while, so we know their routine, their view on current events and so it might be good to get the perspective of some others for a change. After all, they were once new to the program, although my memory doesn’t go back that far.

  7. It doesn’t matter that George,Robin and Michael are leaving let’s face it their interest in being on the show has been waning. It’s been obvious. I’d rather have some fresh faces and who are interested in being there then people who are not.

  8. I will miss two of them. They are the best of all. I won’t miss Michael Strahan, waiting for the day when he is not coming. He is not smart, he is lucky Robin supports him and tutors him. I can’t stand seeing his face, his comments.

  9. This morning’s show is the worst show of all four networks. It always finishes last in the morning show ratings. ABC Execs do yourself a favor take it off the air and fill the time slot with I LOVE LUCY re-runs.

  10. Good for them. I do enjoy the others that have filled in. I do NOT enjoy Lara Spencer at all when she tries to fill in. Fingernails on a chalkboard.
