Former Counting On star Jill Dillard is devastated by a tragic loss. The Duggar daughter took to social media to share the sad news with her supportive followers. Though TLC has pulled the plug on the Duggar family’s shows, fans enjoy Jill’s updates via Instagram and YouTube. Sadly, she had unfortunate news for her followers this weekend. What happened? Jill Dillard Devastated By Tragic Loss
On her Instagram Stories on Sunday evening, Jill shared a new post with her followers. Sadly, she received tragic news about someone dear to her.
In her post, the Duggar daughter posted a gorgeous family photo of her friend, Heather Schisler, and her husband and four children. Jill said, “Our hearts are breaking over the loss today of our sweet friend.”
Jill then explained how well she knew Heather. They went to church together and were in the same small group for a few years. Then, they ended up being pregnant at the same time, and last summer, they both gave birth to their youngest children a couple of weeks apart.
The former Counting On star revealed why her friend passed away, noting that she “hates cancer.” Finally, Jill Dillard requested love and prayers for her friend’s family. She said, “Please join us in praying for their entire family. I cannot imagine all they’re going through.”

Heather Schisler Reveals Cancer Diagnosis
Heather hasn’t lived her life in the public eye the same way Jill has, so many may not know her story. Back in May 2023, Heather took to social media to share her devastating cancer diagnosis with her friends and family. In her Instagram post, she informed her followers that she had received an “advanced stage metastatic cancer diagnosis.” When she shared the post, she also said that the cancer had spread to her liver and lungs.
Both Jill Dillard and Duggar cousin Amy King left kind comments, promising to pray for Heather and her family. So, Jill isn’t the only Duggar family member who was close to Heather.
