GMA: George Stephanopoulos Shocks With On-Air Goodbye
During Friday’s live broadcast of GMA, George Stephanopoulos revealed that they were saying goodbye to a treasured member of their family who has spent the last four decades working for ABC. The 62-year-old revealed that their colleague, Scott Snyder, was leaving the show.
George stood surrounded by his GMA female colleagues Deborah Roberts, Rebecca Jarvis, Lara Spencer, and Ginger Zee as he broke the sand news on-air and said goodbye to Scott.
George Stephanopoulos explained that the entire GMA family wanted to say goodbye to Scott and thank you for his time with the show. The camera, then, panned over to Scott Snyder (who was standing off to the side).
An eruption of applause could be heard echoing across the entire room as everyone joined in saying goodbye to Scott who had worked with ABC for 44 years before making the decision to retire.
George Stephanopoulos proceeded to tell everyone that this camera operator would be missed as he was one who started every single day with a smile. The GMA host encouraged Scott to flash his bright smile for the camera as he boasted about how incredible Scott was.
During the on-air goodbye, there was a photo that flashed on the screen for a few moments of Scott Snyder standing beside Robin Roberts as he said goodbye to the network and his GMA family.
