About a week ago, on July 28th, Michael Strahan took to Instagram to share a suave photo of himself rocking a navy suit with a faded flannel pattern and a vibrant blue tie as he posed for the camera in a side-profile shot. The photo included a thick white border with some black text on top.

Turns out, the former NFL star just realized the New Year’s date would be “123123” this year. He thought this information was WILD and he wanted to share it with anyone else who might’ve not realized yet.

His shock at this discovery did spill over into the cation of his post as he included several mind-blown emojis.

Fans Rip The GMA Personality For Scaring Them

In the comments of his post, his followers were pretty quick to inform him that his post looked like the very typical “RIP” style post that would be posted when a celebrity passes away. While most were sure it wasn’t his intention, they were still furious with him for scaring them. Here’s some of what his fans had to say in response to the post:

• “Don’t scare me like that Michael! I thought this was an RIP post”
• “same. I did a double take.”
• “I know right! After all he did go to space and back!”

The original comment calling attention to the Instagram post looking like a death announcement was liked over 60 times indicating the fan was NOT alone in feeling that way. Many admitted that in a hurried scroll and at first glance, it did look like a death post.
