Why did Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy change his furbaby, Graham’s name? He just got the pup back that he shared with his ex-fiance Rachel Leviss. Now that they are starting a new chapter of life, James has taken it upon himself to change Graham’s name. Keep in mind, Graham is not a baby anymore but rather several years old. Why Did James Kennedy Change Furbaby Graham’s Name?
Recently, the cast of Vanderpump Rules headed to Lake Tahoe for their first Season 11 trip. While they were all away, Rachel Leviss’ beloved pup, Graham seemed to have tagged along, as well. He was spotted with Leviss’ ex-fiance, James Kennedy who helped raise him from when she first got him. Graham was a college graduation gift from Rachel’s parents. At the time, she and James were very much in love and happy together. However, when they split after Season 9, she kept the pooch but did not let James have visitation. This broke his heart but Season 10 came with so much drama and turmoil that Rachel ended up entering a mental health facility.
There have been mixed stories about what happened with Graham when Rachel was away in treatment. In any case, he eventually got into the hands of Lisa Vanderpump and her foundation. Thus, Graham was reunited with James Kennedy who seemed truly brokenhearted to not be able to be with him post-breakup. Now that he is with Kennedy and James’ girlfriend, Ally Lewber, there have been some changes. Apparently, Graham was a biter, which Ariana Madix had noted but he had been through some training.
James is determined to show him all of the love he needs, a new life, and that is starting with a name change. He posted on his Instagram story that Graham has been rebranded ‘Hippie’ but there is a sweet meaning behind this. It is to honor James Kennedy’s late godfather, musical icon, George Michael. Hippie was apparently George’s dog’s name so this is where it comes full circle. However, fans were not thrilled with the name change.
Confuse The Pup
Fans were frustrated at the fact that James Kennedy chose to change to dog’s name, especially since he’s not a baby. They spoke out on the @pumprules page to share their thoughts. “This poor dog is going to be so confused,” one wrote. Another added: “How can you change a dogs name THATS CRUEL š¤¦āāļø.” Yet, others believed the pup had been through so much before that this name change was the least of the problems. Hopefully, he will just quickly and live a happy and peaceful life.
