‘Live’ Kelly Ripa Absent Again, Promoting Another Show?
As Live with Kelly and Mark host Kelly Ripa is absent again from her main gig, is she promoting another show and a big career move?
Earlier this week, Kelly told fans that she would not be back on the show. And she has been absent from the studio for two days now, with no explanation given. Is she promoting big career moves to another show? Read on to find out what Kelly is up to in her career. And what we know about her return to Live.
Kelly Tells Fans She’s Not Coming Back
On Monday, Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos opened the show like they always do. But Kelly had some bad news for her fans. She told the audience, “I probably won’t be here tomorrow or forever because I’m going to hit the $900 million Powerball.”
Mark laughed, and the audience cheered for their beloved host. Kelly did in fact return to the studio on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednesday night, the Powerball winner was drawn from a ticket in California. And then on Thursday, Kelly was missing from the set with no explanation. Mark briefly said that his wife was “on assignment,” and Maria Menounos took her seat. On Friday, she was absent again, and similarly, there was no explanation.
However, since it’s unlikely she won the Powerball, fans are confused about what exactly is happening.
Amid Absence From Live, Kelly Ripa Promotes Another Show
And while the mystery deepens about her absence from Live, Kelly Ripa has been promoting another show.
This week, Kelly urged her fans to tune in on Thursday evenings to follow Kelly on a game show that she hosts. As the host of The Generation Gap, Kelly pits teams of seniors and youngsters against one another as they tackle knowledge both recent and vintage. The elder and younger duos answer questions about things both sets should know individually but perhaps not as a team. Kelly shared a pic of Joaquin, who is now 20, when he was a child with his grandfather, Mark’s dad Saul. In the photo, they’re both wearing Gap boxers on their head.
Kelly captioned the playful pic, “Just a friendly TBT reminder that an all new Generation Gap is on ABC tonight at 8/7c.” She jokingly added, “No this is not a Gap ad, but it really should be.” Additionally, the talk show host shared several clips from the show, which is now in its second season on ABC. It’s unclear when Kelly will return to the studio to resume filming Live. For now, fans will have to watch and wait to see what happens.
