Whoopi Goldberg has stormed off of her seat on The View over some Miranda Lambert talk. Of course, viewers are not new to seeing Whoopi assert herself. When she thinks and feels that she is right, she will stand by her convictions wholeheartedly. It makes her a strong-willed woman. Sometimes, it can be offputting but this time, the moderator was attempting to prove a point. When talk turned to a recent incident with country star Miranda Lambert, Whoopi took a stand. Read on for more details.

Whoopi Goldberg Storms Off Over Miranda Lambert Talk

Miranda Lambert was performing a show when she stopped cold. She was not sick but rather sick of seeing a few concertgoers taking selfies during her song, “Tin Man.” Lambert asked them to stop and told them it was bothering her. This did not sit well with the patrons who claimed that they were only taking a handful of seconds to capture a moment in time. Plus, they felt they had amazing seats at the venue so they wanted to show them off. The subject came up earlier Tuesday, July 28th on The View per Us Magazine. The ladies were talking about it with Sunny Hostin thinking Lambert was wrong.

Sunny Hostin shared that she was “going to take as many selfies as I want if I paid $757 for tickets.” However, Whoopi Goldberg was not in favor of this. “You know what? Stay home. If you’re going to spend $750 to come to my concert, then give me the respect of watching me while I do my thing, or don’t come,” Whoopi argued. Sunny fired back that by taking photos she can relive the event whenever she feels like it. Whoopi soon told her to turn on the television as she got out of her chair and exited the moderator’s area.

When her co-hosts inquired as to where she was headed, Whoopi Goldberg said: “I’m leaving y’all! I want to take a picture with this marvelous woman, who is 91. So, we’re going to do a selfie. Just me and you. Will you push that button? We’ll be right back.” Clearly, Whoopi was determined to make her point in the best way she knew how. Plus, she gave a 91-year-old woman a moment in the spotlight so it all worked out.

Mean Miranda?

Despite Whoopi Goldberg defending Miranda Lambert in this incident, it is not the first time the singer has offended fans. There was a beach ball incident. One came on stage and she ended up popping it saying this was a concert, not a beach. This is not boding well for the once-beloved artist as her shows appear to have all of these unwritten rules. None of them seem to involve basic concert fun but a lot of shaming.

Do you think Whoopi and Miranda are right or should fans be able to enjoy themselves in whatever way they see fit at a show as long as they are being safe? More so, does this change your view on Miranda? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. Never thought the day would come when I would agree with Whoopi. Enjoy the moment when the music is live or watch it on the telly.
