Is It Cake Too? Baker Spirit Wallace Ripped As ‘One Trick Pony’

Unfortunately for Spirit Wallace, her time on Is It Cake? Season 2 was not well-received by Netflix subscribers. At least not many of those who took to Twitter and were very vocal about her poor performance on the show.

As those who have watched some (or all) of Season 2 know, Spirit Wallace proved to be far less talented than some of the other bakers on the show. Time after time, she really seemed to struggle with getting her realistic cake to look right. Subscribers report that there was even a round where she failed to finish a cake and still made it through to the finals.

Getting creative Spirit Wallace started to significantly manipulate her decoys to fool the judges into not being able to spot which was the real cake. Unfortunately for her competition, it worked. The judges were fooled by what looked like a “poor paint job” on a printer sitting next to her actual printer cake. At the time, the judging panel applauded Spirit for taking that approach on the show to trick them because it worked.

Does Netflix Need To Change The Rules?

On Twitter, subscribers of Netflix admit they absolutely love Is It Cake? and want the show to continue. They, however, want the streaming giant to take a hard look at the rules and consider making some changes. Presently, there do not appear to be any rules in place preventing the bakers from making modifications to the decoys they are presented with to trick the judges. Subscribers on Twitter are in agreement that allowing this to happen makes it easier for someone like Spirit Wallace to beat out the bakers who were far more talented as Spirit was able to hide the fact that her cakes just weren’t very good.

While Spirit seemed to be getting a bulk of the heat from subscribers, they also were not happy about other altercations to decoys either. For example, the strings were plucked off the decoys to hide the ukulele cake because the baker had trouble getting the strings to work right. Subscribers were in agreement that the move wasn’t exactly fair either.
