So, when Lawson said something years ago, fans were able to dig it up and noticed that he did indeed go back on his word.
Bringing Up Bates fans think Lawson went back on his word, why?
On Reddit this week, a fan posted a couple of snaps from an episode of the UPtv show. In the clip, which is from one of his siblings’ weddings, Lawson says, “One thing I will never do or support in our family is an outdoor wedding.”

Fans found this ironic because they thought they remembered that Lawson actually got married on a boat in 2022. One fan got a good laugh out of it, saying, “He was so dramatic for this statement 😂”
Another added, “Hahaha! I just watched that episode and laughed out loud!!”
So, did Lawson Bates get married on a boat after all?
Below, you can check out a video from Lawson’s wedding day, showing that he did indeed get married on a boat. Around the time of his wedding to Tiffany Espensen, Lawson shared with fans about their elaborate wedding plans, including getting hitched on a boat.
In a Reddit comment, one fan confirmed, “Yep! He and Tiffy married on a ‘yacht’ in CA. I think the boat pulled out into the harbor as they had the ceremony.”

Of course, Lawson did say this several years ago. At the time, a wedding of his own may not have been on his radar. But outdoor weddings are very popular, so it likely would’ve been hard for him and Tiffany to avoid an outdoor ceremony. After all, they were in California and the weather was nice enough to be outside.
